Glossary / Lead Reactivation

Lead Reactivation

Lead reactivation is the practice of recontacting past inquiries, quotes, or customers who went quiet, to see if the opportunity is still open, using consent already on record.

Why it matters

Old leads and past customers are usually the cheapest source of new work available, because the business already spent money or effort to reach them once.

Reactivation only applies to people who gave consent to be contacted, whether by previously requesting information or by being an existing customer, not to purchased lists or cold contacts.

Effective reactivation messages are specific to what the person asked about or bought before, rather than a generic blast, and always include a clear way to opt out.

Example

A business emails customers who had an HVAC tune-up exactly one year ago, asking if they would like to schedule this year’s visit.
